We get soooo off topic in my class, so it's hard to write a blog sometimes.. Old music isn't really my thing, the only reason why I know all the oldies is because my grandparents and occasionally my dad.  My dad listens to more of matalica rather than Elvis.. Obviously. I'm pretty sure I could sing along to every 80s song if it were to come on.

I should write more blogs, I mean they are so simple, but I always put them off.. When I do right my blogs Ive notcied im always listening to music whenever I do write them! Right now I'm listening to a song called dayum baby by Florida Georgia line. I really LOVE country music, to me it makes me happy. It's MUCH better than rap music, in my opinion. Country songs at least have a meaning to them, they don't talk about drugs and all the other ridiculous things rappers sing about. When I'm with my friends, or if I'm out I don't really listen to country music, I like listening to more upbeat music and party music! But when I'm all by myself you'll never catch me listening to that crap. Yeah I may sing along to all that stupid music, but that doesn't nessissarily mean I like it all! Like when I'm with my daddy, all we do is listen to rock, mostly in the 80s. My dad plays guitar, so he loves songs with just guitar in it, one of his favorite albums is chicken foot, but I can't remember who the guitarists are!

Blogs

Blogs are just not my thing! And it's hard having to write them twice a week. I mean yeah it should be a really simple thing to do. All we right about is music, and personally I really love music. It can set or change my mood. And I never really noticed how much it impacted me until I was apart of Mr.A's class! Even though I don't nessissarily listen to all the music he plays, I still have an open mind when he plays us all those albums. Like when we started to talk about the Beatles, honestly, I knew NOTHING about them, but watching movies and documentaries about them made me appreciate them more!!

Hearing everyone talk about ACL this past week really makes me want to go next year!! I haven't really heard of any of the bands, but I've looked most of them up and some of them sound very interesting!

ACL?

Seriously, what the hell is ACL??? NO ONE in California talks about it. It's like the minute I moved to Texas that's all people talked about!! I still barely know what it is!! I guess ACL is like California's stage coach orrrrr nocturnal or Coachella. I wish I could have gone this year to see what it's all about. Maybe next year

Justin bieber

 Most of The Beatles songs seem to be about women though, its still really enjoy able! its just crazy how girls over reacted SO badly over them, and i guess comparing him to someone who is really popular now would probably be justin bieber. Girls seriously freak the heck out when it comes to him. And i was sadly one of those girls once apon time., i really almost hyperventilated when i saw him, it was a scary time for everyone. But come to think of it, i dont really EVER listen to Justin being anymore, and i wouldnt really recommend his songs to everyone, i feel like his music is for little girls who are obsessed with him, but i still think he is an excellent singer, so i kind of counterdiked myself with that one.

Earlier today you played some really weird "rap" music, i thought it was terrible and ive never heard it before in my life. im not one to like all that rap music in the first place. First of all, i feel like all they do is talk about stupid things (most of the time). i mean i cant sit here and say i dont have any rap music on my phone, or i dont listen to it. I'm pretty sure i know it well enough to sing along to it IF i wanted to. Lately all we have been talking about are The Beatles, and i didnt really know much about them really, but after watching there movie thing, ive came to like them ALOT more!!

Its really crazy to think how much everything in America has changed in the past 60 years. From the clothes we wear, to the music that we all listen to. Everything has made such a huge turn around throughout the years! Like five years ago dub step wasn't even known or really that popular and now people love it. In my opinion that music is terrible, i wouldn't recommend that type of music to ANYONE!! i like listening to country music and relaxing music, and i know many people who cant stand it. I think when it comes to listening to music it really just depends on your mood. Like when im working out i dont like listening to country to music because its not upbeat enough for me, then when im in a bad or sad mood i wont listen to really happy upbeat music either, because that doesnt really fit the mood im in..

The Beatles

Lately all we have been talking about is The Beatles. I didnt really ever have a fascination to them, i only knew a couple of their songs, but as we talk more and more about them im starting to really like them! It seems like all they did was mess around like 24/7. The fact that they would do an album in just one day and still manage to sound AMAZING is pretty incredible!  I dont think many bands/artist could manage to do that, in my opinion. They were a band in the 60's and people today are still in LOVE with all their music, even though they all broke up SOOOO long ago!

Texas vs California

I just moved here to Texas about four weeks ago from California. I figured Texas would be nothing but country music and weird people with accents, but being here for only a couple of weeks I've realized that NOT that many people actually listen to country music out here, which is weird to me. Out in Cali people that's what the majority of people listened too, well in my town at least. Then people starting talking about ACL, which i still have not a single clue what that is, but it seems to be really popular out here. i guess ACL is like California's "Stage Coach" which is a big three day weekend country music fest! I'm pretty sure its the same thing as our Coachella or Oz Fest. The Oz fest has always been my dads favorite, it was nothing but rock bands and im pretty sure this fest has been going on since my dad was a kid. i was never allowed to go when i was younger because it got to crazy.

I like it when i go in the car with my dad and he turns the radio on to his favorite radio station (96.7 K-CAL). He gets so into his rock music, air guitar and all, sings to every song and bangs his head. Then when i play rap music or country music he HATES it, but that night ill catch him singing along to a song we just listened to. i think most music today is more catchy than anything, we get this same beat/song played over and over again until we cant help but sing along when it comes on, even though everyone hates it.

Elvis

We talked about Elvis Presley this week in class. In my opinion i think he made a lot of memorable songs, songs that we are all really familiar with and could sing along too. He was one of those guys that girls just went CRAZYYYYYY over! I dont think he was THAT great, but he was something different i guess. Some girls couldnt even handle themselves when it came to him. Like in this video for example, all i hear is screaming girls, thats definitely what you call "fan girling"

1950's

In my opinion i like lil richie compared to most of the other famous singers in 1950. On the other hand, Chuck Berry is just like another Lil Richie. They were both famous colored men who sang a lot of up beat songs and could change the mood in a sad room any day! Chuck berry and lil richie were one of the first musicians to be introduced into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. There music was just so different, and so happy. when i listen to it it reminds me of the greaser days, or swing/fun dancing.

First blog!

I think music plays a BIG part in my life.  Its there for me at times when no one else can be. Its just so simple and relaxing and can fit to any mood im in. The music i listen to is very diverse because i can go from country music, to up beat hip hop music, to old rock.  I think everyone is different when it comes to music, everyone has different perspectives and totally different tastes. In my opinion that is a GREAT thing!!
